Why do I need to sign in?

GitHub's API requires authentication to read Actions build logs — even for public repositories. Signing in lets Build Doctor fetch those logs on your behalf so it can analyze the failure.

What can the app access?

• Your GitHub username.
• Read-only access to public repositories (the public_repo scope) — used only to read build logs and fork/build status. It has no write access and cannot change anything in your account or repos.

How is it used?

• Build logs are fetched on demand when you diagnose a run or check a user, then analyzed in memory to match known failures.
• Your access token stays only in your server-side session (in memory) and is discarded when the session expires (12 hours) or you log out. It is never written to a database.
• Basic operational logs (your username and which run/user you look up) are recorded to help run and debug the service.
